The Museum
Have we been doing this for a while? You bet. Here is a sampling of 'Old School' movies we made way back when. We shot 35mm photographs of HO scale (think 'Model Railroad') vehicles, signs and people at 1/10th second intervals, then assembled them frame-by-frame into a videotape production. Even though the vehicle motion was generated by in-house and DOT-provided simulation programs, this was an incredibly manual process. In some movies, if you look closely, you can see faint pencil marks on the road that delineate the vehicle paths. The photography was done late at night in the basement of our building to minimize lighting changes. And if we lost count of the frames we took during the process, we had to start the whole session over!
